High School Exchange Programs to Japan for Lacto Ovo Vegetarians?
I have a serious dilemma. My dream is to spend a year in Japan in high school, but I'm not willing to comprise my values and eat fish while I am there. Anyone know any programs were I could sign up, r alternate routes were I could get to Japan during high school?

Food is very important in the Japanese Culture. A meal is a social event. Refusing to try foods would appear rude. I would suggest you try to find a family with the same standards or wait until you can visit on your own.

Part of being an exchange student is learning to compromise and fit in with other cultures. Most organizations will have you list food and diet on the application and your host family will pick you knowing that. However, you should be prepared to "give in" a little if necessary to avoid being rude. Extreme rigidity will definitely hinder your exchange experience. If you wait until you go to college, you can then live at a university or other student housing and pick your own food.

Anyone knows what is an open school in japan?

Anyone knows what is an open school in japan??
I am going to japan to study this september, but i heard they have an open school. One of the problems of going to japan has been that well they start on april and i will have to enter to a grade thats already started, finish it and then start it again. My question is... Some one told me an open school is when new students go to the school or something like that, but I'm not shour because i think its wierd that they are having an open school right now at the midle of the year... Â¿thoes that means that the school its starting now in september? Â¿Or is it normal for a school in japan to have an open school right now? Â¿What do you think?

No public schools start in September. The word "open school" is used for a sort of "trial class" of a few days for those who are interested in a school. And they are sometimes held now because regular classes are in summer holiday. I think "someone" meant that.

Is $3000(USD) a good price for a school trip to Japan?
During the trip we will participate in a short home-stay and visit many historical sights. The focus of the trip is to experience Japanese history and culture. The price includes airfare, transportation, lodging, some meals, and activities. The trip lasts 2 weeks (2 days allotted to flying between US and Japan). Is this a good price?

Very good price, my sister is paying 3000 USD for a trip to washington DC but its only 5 days. You have a deal

If you already paid cost like air fare and accommodation, $3000 is more than enough.

Yes it is, airfare from the west coast is around $1,200 and even more for the east coast. I would pay and enjoy, it's a good deal for 2weeks.
