Winter holidays from 26th of December to the 7th of January but this is up to year when the weekends fall.

Baseball is the most popular sport in Japan. High School ball is like American Football anywhere in the States. I think there is girl's ball but it isn't as popular as it is with the boys.

I taught at a Japanese Jr. High and Baseball is huge. Also Softball is big too. All the Kids love MLB and Japanese Baseball too. As for high school baseball it is like College Sport in the U.S... The big high Baseball Championship is held in the summer in a professional Baseball Stadium in Kobe. It is so big that the profession team is kick out of their home stadium for two weeks. In addition, many Japanese watch first the team selection of high school baseball teams. Next, all the Championship games are broadcast on major network TV. The high school baseball championship is like the NCCA Baseball Championship in the U.S.. Also the Championship is were Japanese Major League Baseball Player are discovered. This was were Ichiro and Matsui were both first discovered. Philly

yeah veeeeeeeery much there is high school girl's softball league too but not so popular. ichiro and matsui were very popular when they were high school student because almost everybody check high school baseball league. they hold a big high school baseball league in aug.

Yes, Yes it is.. Just about every boy plays it. Since most schools there don't have American football, they play Baseball almost year around. If you walk to the local park, on any given nice day, you will find a family there with the father and son playing catch and working of skills. The mother is watching and cheering them on. (a very nice sight to see). They take there baseball very seriously.

Japanese high school ball is huge. The schools that are serious about winning national titles have their own house leagues that they select players for their JV and Varsity teams from. Some schools have their own pro style indoor training facilities. The high school championship is like March Madness in the US. Japanese ball players tend to go straight from high school to the pros, so that's part of the appeal. Girls do play softball in Japan, and there is an annual softball game between retired pro hardballers and the Japan national softball team. The girls inevitably win.

Baseball is extremely popular in Japan, and kids all over, from the big cities to the countryside LOVE baseball. Normally boys start playing it from elementary school and it gets more and more intense as they proceed to Junior High and High School. Junior High and High School Baseball teams have practice 6 days a week and probably 7days when its tournament season. These kids are really good and really serious about their sport. Softball is popular with the girls, but I think they start playing in J.H.S it really depends on the elem. sch that they attend though. Softball isn't half as popular as baseball is, but that doesn't stop the girls from playing their hearts out.

Hello. I'm gua from China and I went to Japan for school once since my family worked there for a while, and I?
was able to pass for Japanese over there since I looked the same as Japanese and I spoke fluent Japanese ( Japanese was easy for me to learn since I already had the genes for it ). Is it true that a Chinese can easily pass as a Japanese in Japan?

Yah, duh. Do you think I can't pass as a French or a German?
3 :
I suppose that since you passed for Japanese, that proves it.
4 :
Some of them can. Why do you have a white guy avatar if you're Chinese?
5 :
Of course not - you are just fooling yourself - we all can recognize you for who you are!
6 :
Not in my opinion, I can easily recognize the chinese here because their mannerisms and facial features are different. Also, Japanese guys (younger) have certain hairstyles while Chinese seem to keep their hair black and kind of old fashioned style. But when you went there for school, were you in elementary school? I can't tell kids apart racially to be honest. If you picked up on the language quickly I assume it's because you were young. P.S. how can someone have the genes to learn Japanese? Just because you're Asian doesn't mean you can easily learn any Asian language, though I guess understanding kanji wouldn't be a problem for you..

A reasonably intelligent person can tell the difference, but most people tend not to be able to.
